Why Credit Unions?

Many people ask this question. Why would you want to join a credit union rather than go to a traditional financial institution? There are many reasons.  Here are just a few:

Owned by You

We are a cooperative, owned by our members. As an owner, you have representation on both a voluntary Board of Directors and voluntary committees. This gives you a voice in your credit union. Also, because the owners are our customers and the Directors are volunteers, we are able to keep our deposit rates higher and our loans lower.

Local

We are local. Money deposited into the credit union stays here, or is used to support the loan products offered by the credit union.

Not-for-Profit

Our not-for-profit status allows us to have fewer and lower fees, while also providing you with a competitive mix of products and services to choose from.

It's About You!

Credit union services work to improve the economic and social well-being of all members. We don't put profit ahead of your well-being - your financial needs are always our top priority.

Education

We seek to educate our members from ongoing seminars to one-on-one consultations with Member Service Representatives. If you need help understanding your credit report or navigating the mortgage process, we are here as your advisor.

Community

Credit unions seek to bring about human and social development. We are actively involved in our communities, supporting charities, community events, youth and collegiate sports and higher education aspirations of our children. We don't do it because we have to - we do it because it's the RIGHT thing to do.
