Vermont Federal Credit Union Raised Over $30,000 for United Way

Burlington, VT – Jean Giard, President and CEO of Vermont Federal Credit Union, is pleased to announce the Credit Union has raised $30,004 for United Way.

During the months of November and December Vermont Federal Credit Union participated in the annual fundraising campaign for United Way. Funds were raised through staff pledging one-time or regular donations over the course of the next year. The total of these contributions allowed the Credit Union to exceed its goal by almost $5,000, an increase in the total donation from 2016 by $6,000.

Amanda Reid, Credit Union HR Specialist and United Way Keyperson stated, “The Credit Union has been partnering with United Way for over fifteen years. Giving back to the communities we serve is very important to us and we feel teaming up with United Way is a great way to do so, as they’ve mastered how to assess community needs and provide necessary support.”

Vermont Federal is a $500 million-plus financial institution, with six locations currently serving over 36,000 members. Members are part of a cooperative, meaning they share ownership in the Credit Union and elect a volunteer board of directors.
