Zack joined Vermont Federal Credit Union in 2019, bringing vast experience in real estate transactions. Zack has been a lender for nearly a decade and focuses his real estate experience on financing complex commercial transactions in addition to helping grow and scale commercial and industrial businesses. At Vermont Federal Credit Union, Zack has worked with businesses of all sizes and life stages from start-up through scaling, working closely with his experienced team to provide Vermont businesses with the capital needed to grow and thrive.
Zack is a Vermont native and was born and raised in Burlington. He graduated from Marlboro College with a B.A. in Economics and Mandarin Chinese with a concentration in urban development. After college, Zack worked extensively as a community development lender with a focus on affordable housing and access to credit for low-to-moderate income borrowers. He resides with his wife and dog “Gus” in South Burlington.

Ian joined the Credit Union in 2022. Ian comes to Vermont Federal with 20 years of financial experience seven of them in the Business Lending community. Ian was born and raised in Burlington and resides in Essex with his wife and 2 daughters. He and his wife also recently created a new nonprofit entity called Big Beautiful Life (https://bigbeautifullife.org/) that focuses on “Spreading joy to children in medical crisis, supporting their helpers and raising awareness about medical complexity."

Mel is a native Vermonter, currently residing in the center of Vermont with her family, which also includes her three large dogs. Mel brings with her over 15 years of banking experience and is dedicated to working with business members to support Vermont’s economy. Mel is passionate about using financing to facilitate growth and continues to play an integral role in helping Vermont businesses navigate through COVID-19 to recovery. Mel is an experienced real-estate expert who is committed to helping business members strategize and structure financing in all forms of real estate acquisition. In the warm weather you can most likely catch Mel kayaking. Once the weather starts to get cold, it’s time for football!

Uncommon Coffee Co. is a local business rooted in Essex, Vermont. When it came time to start up and invest in the business, owner Maya Crowley turned to Vermont Federal for support. She needed a partner who could help secure the right space, invest in a roaster, and establish the operating funds required to bring her vision to life.
Today, Uncommon Coffee Co. is more than a neighborhood coffee shop; it is a gathering place for the community.
Rigorous Technology is a Vermont-based robotics company dedicated to making advanced robotics more accessible than ever before. As the business grew, co-founders Diane Abruzzini and Colin Riggs turned to Vermont Federal for help securing a headquarters that could support their testing and production needs.
Today, they operate a state-of-the-art facility in Williston, Vermont, and serve organizations across the country.
