Recently, some members have reported receiving phone calls from individuals claiming there was a recent security incident in which their debit card may have been compromised and requesting account information.
Scammers often use language that sounds urgent or official, reference “necessary verification,” or threaten account closure or restricted access in an effort to pressure you into responding quickly.
Please be assured that if Vermont Federal Credit Union needs to contact you about a genuine security matter, we will never ask you to disclose full account numbers, debit or credit card PINs, CVV codes, card expiration dates, online banking passwords, or one-time verification codes.
If you receive a call claiming to be from Vermont Federal Credit Union regarding fraud or a security incident DO NOT provide any personal, financial, or debit card information. Instead, contact us directly at 1-888-252-0202 to report the call to our member service team.
