South Burlington, VT - Vermont Federal Credit Union is proud to announce that it has once again been honored with the Governor’s Excellence in Worksite Wellness Award, marking the 10th consecutive year the Credit Union has received the recognition at the Gold level — the highest level of achievement.
Established through a collaboration between the Vermont Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports and the Vermont Department of Health, the Worksite Wellness Award recognizes organizations that go above and beyond in promoting the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of employees across Vermont.
“Reaching ten years of recognition is an incredible milestone that reflects our ongoing commitment to our people,” said Amanda Reid, Vice President of Human Resources at Vermont Federal Credit Union. “We’re proud to create a culture where employees don’t just work; they thrive.”
Over the last decade, Vermont Federal has developed a comprehensive wellness culture that encompasses physical, social, emotional, and professional growth. Wellness initiatives include:
- Health & Fitness: on-site gym access, discounted memberships, yoga, strength training, stretching sessions, and flu shot clinics.
- Nutrition & Lifestyle: community-supported agriculture (CSAs), farm shares, and nutrition education.
- Social Well-Being: employee-led events such as hiking, bowling, berry picking, and mini golf, plus annual staff appreciation gatherings.
- Professional Growth: tuition assistance, mentorship, career development programs, and job shadowing.
- Community Connection: 20 hours of paid volunteer time per employee each year to support local nonprofits.
This year’s recognition adds to Vermont Federal’s growing list of workplace honors, including being named a 2025 Best Place to Work in Vermont by Vermont Business Magazine.
“Investing in employee wellness isn’t just good for our team, it’s good for our members and our community,” added Reid. “When our employees are healthy, supported, and engaged, they bring their best selves to serving our members every day.”
