Vermont Federal Credit Union Supports Community Through Holiday Giving

December 23rd, 2025

South Burlington, VT –
This holiday season, Vermont Federal Credit Union is supporting Vermonters facing food insecurity and giving back to local nonprofit organizations through food drives, monetary donations, and volunteer hours.

Supporting Food Insecurity Across Vermont

Feed Your Neighbor:  A long-standing tradition hosted by Vermont Federal Credit Union in partnership with 99.9 The Buzz and 106.7 WIZN, the Feed Your Neighbor food drive took place on November 22, 2025, at Hannaford in Essex Junction. The drive collected more than 3,500 lbs. of food and over $2,000 in cash for Feeding Champlain Valley—an increase from last year’s totals of 2,300 lbs. and $1,800.

Vermont Federal Foundation Raffle: The Vermont Federal Foundation, Vermont Federal Credit Union’s 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is hosting a charitable raffle aiming to raise $60,000 during the holiday season to help fight food insecurity. Funds will be divided equally among The Vermont Foodbank, the Vermont Federal Foundation, and one raffle winner, each receiving $20,000. In its first week, the raffle reached nearly half of its $60,000 fundraising goal and continues to encourage participation.

Feed a Family: In collaboration with ABC22 & FOX44, Vermont Federal Credit Union sponsored another holiday food drive. On December 18, 2025 at the City Market Flynn Avenue location, the two organizations collected 784 lbs of food and $741 in monetary donations to support the Vermont Foodbank.

Vermont Federal Employees Volunteer for Local Causes

Vermont Federal employees have also been actively volunteering with community-focused organizations this season.

Wood 4 Good: On November 24, 2025, employees volunteered with Wood 4 Good, a nonprofit that delivers free firewood to households in need—helping ensure safe, warm homes during Vermont’s coldest months.

Hope Holiday Shop: Throughout December, employees are assisting with HOPE’s Holiday Shop, helping organize and distribute toys and gifts to families who rely on the program during the holiday season.

Vermont Federal Foundation Supports Local Nonprofits with Donations

As part of its annual Giving Tuesday campaign, the Vermont Federal Foundation donated a total of $15,000 to five local nonprofits: Boys & Girls Club of Burlington, Lund, Common Grounds Recovery, Outright Vermont, and Turning Point of Franklin County. Followers on social media selected Lund to receive the top donation of $5,000, while the remaining organizations each received $2,500.
