South Burlington, VT - Vermont Federal Credit Union and Credit Union of Vermont are pleased to announce that the proposed merger between the two institutions was officially approved following a membership vote that concluded on December 15. With prior authorization from the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) already in place, members of Credit Union of Vermont voted in favor of the merger, finalizing the decision and enabling both credit unions to move forward as a single, unified organization.

We are excited to welcome Credit Union of Vermont’s members and employees to our team, and we look forward to building on the combined strengths of both institutions.”

As a result of the approved merger, Vermont Federal Credit Union now serves over 63,000 members, and offers access to nine Vermont branch locations. Members will also benefit from an enhanced suite of products, expanded services, increased convenience, and a broader range of innovative digital banking solutions, while maintaining the personalized, community-focused service that members in Vermont expect and deserve
Credit Union of Vermont will continue operations as Credit Union of Vermont: A Division of Vermont Federal Credit Union. Full systems integration is set to be completed later in 2026. Both credit unions will continue to share updates at www.vermontfederal.org/bettertogether.
