Vermont Federal Joins Sleep in Heavenly Peace for Volunteer Day

June 20, 2024 -

South Burlington, VT - Vermont Federal Credit Union (VFCU) has partnered with Sleep in Heavenly Peace for the second consecutive year to sponsor and host a volunteer “bed build” day dedicated to building beds for children in need. The event is part of Vermont Federal’s ongoing commitment to supporting the local community and ensuring that every child has a safe and comfortable place to sleep.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing beds to children who do not have one. Founded in Idaho in 2012, Sleep in Heavenly Peace has since grown into a nationwide movement, with over 270 chapters across the country, including in Vermont. The organization relies on volunteers and donations to build and deliver beds to families in need, making a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families in local communities.

Over 20 Vermont Federal employees joined forces with volunteers from Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build and assemble beds for children in the Vermont area. The volunteer day took place in Essex Junction, Vermont. All beds built on the volunteer day will go to children in Vermont.

"We are thrilled to once again partner with Sleep in Heavenly Peace for our second annual volunteer day," said Peter Winch, VP Marketing at Vermont Federal Credit Union. "Sleep in Heavenly Peace is making a tangible difference in the lives of children and families in our community, and we are honored to support their mission. By coming together as a team, we can help provide a basic need - a bed - to children who otherwise would go without."

The volunteer day with Sleep in Heavenly Peace aligns with Vermont Federal Credit Union’s commitment to community, compassion, and service. Through initiatives like this, Vermont Federal remains committed to making a positive impact in the lives of its members and the communities it serves.
