Vermont Federal Credit Union is partnering with VHFA to provide first-generation homebuyers with a $15,000 grant which can be applied to the down payment or closing costs on the purchase of a new home. This grant is available to first-generation homebuyers who qualify under specific income level parameters. The grant from VHFA is not a loan and does not need to be repaid. Additionally, Vermont Federal Credit Union is offering a $1,000 credit at closing.

Borrowers must meet VHFA guidelines which includes all borrowers and non-borrowing spouses must be true-first time homebuyers, AND parents or legal guardians of ONE borrower do not currently own a home, OR one borrower has been placed in foster care at any time in their life.
Funds reserved upon approval and credited at closing. Additional qualifications may apply. Must be a member of the credit union to qualify. Vermont Federal contribution credited at closing. Funding for the grant is available on a first-come, first-served basis while funds last.
